School Resource Officers

The School Resource Officers (SROs) operate under the supervision of a Sergeant, with six officers currently assigned to the Comfort and Boerne Independent School Districts. Each officer is stationed at a specific campus: one at Comfort Elementary, one at Comfort Middle School, one at Comfort High School, one at Herff Elementary, one at Viola Wilson Elementary, and one at Voss Middle School.

These deputies are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of both students and staff. Often, they serve as students' first point of contact with law enforcement, making them key in building positive relationships between youth and law enforcement. They engage with students to ensure a safe school environment and manage any criminal incidents that occur on campus. Additionally, they provide security for after-school activities such as sports, band events, and other campus gatherings.

Each deputy is also responsible for teaching educational classes to raise students' awareness of various modern-day risks, such as drug use, drunk driving, bullying, reckless driving, and tobacco use.
