Bio

Lt. Louis Martinez Joined the Kendall County Sheriff's Office in January of 2005 as the commander of the Criminal Investigations Division in January of 2010 he assumed command of the Patrol Division. He has an extensive background in Law Enforcement including thirty years service with San Antonio Police Department.

This extensive experience has made him instrumental to the Sheriff's Office, with his valuable knowledge of modern investigations techniques and contemporary crime fighting procedures. His experience includes:

  • Undercover Narcotics Officer with S.A.P.D. and D.E.A.
  • S.W.A.T. Officer and Instructor, starting S.W.A.T. programs throughout the State of Texas
  • Blood Stain Interpretation
  • Forensics
  • Special Threats and Management for Teams and Individual
  • Kinesics Interview and Interrogations
  • F.B.I. General Police Photography
  • Hostage Negotiations
  • Effective Communications
  • Hold Advanced and Master Police Officer Certificates

Lieutenant Martinez was the recipient of the 2008 Law Enforcement Gold Medal Award winner from the Veterans of Foreign War Department of Texas.

Lt. Martinez has set new goals and objectives that encourage productivity and is excited and well prepared to meet the challenges that lie ahead.
