Bio

Roger is a 4th generation Texan who prior to his election as Kendall County Sheriff served 31 years with the Dallas Police Department, retiring honorably as a Deputy Chief. He commanded many of the Department’s most sensitive divisions, including Special Operations Tactical, Homicide, Narcotics, Internal Affairs, Community Services, and Patrol.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University and holds Advanced and Master Peace Officer Certifications.
Along with his duties as Sheriff he currently serves as a Board Member for the Rainbow Senior Citizens Center and the Kendall County 100 Club. He is also a member of the Boerne Noon Rotary, the Texas Association of Sheriffs, both the Boerne and Comfort Chambers of Commerce, the Kendall County Centurions, the Kendall County Fair Association, and the Kendall Masonic Lodge and Alzafar Shrine.
Roger and his wife Norma are active members of Faith Bible Church in Boerne. He has two grown children, Melissa and Roger Jr., and four grandchildren, Wyatt, Morgan, Mandy and Riley Grace.
Roger understands that he has been elected to a very important position of public trust and appreciates all the community support he and his Deputies have received since taking office.
