Jim started his career with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and worked in both the patrol division and detention. He moved to the Hill Country and worked for a short time for the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office. He joined the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office in October 1994 when the detention facility was expanded to forty nine beds, and later fifty three beds. He was promoted to Sergeant, Major and eventually Jail Administrator in 1997. He served as the Jail Administrator until November 2002 at which time he retired. He was pleased and excited to return to Kendall County as the Jail Administrator under the leadership of Sheriff Roger Duncan as of January 2005.

Jim is dedicated to the proposition that service in the detention profession is an honorable way of life. Jim takes extreme pride in the professionalism of the detention staff. He believes we are blessed in Kendall County to be able to hire qualified individuals from the surrounding areas. He believes Kendall County Detention Staff to be among the best in the area. Our professionalism is maintained by both in house training and courses offered by outside professional instructors.
