What is Exploring?
Law Enforcement Exploring is a career oriented program that gives young adults the opportunity to explore a career in law enforcement by working with local law enforcement agencies.
It is one of the Exploring programs from Learning for Life, a non-scouting subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America.
Our Mission...
It is the mission of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post #1101 to provide Explorers with career oriented goals, while re-enforcing teamwork, leadership, and to encourage good citizenship in the community in which we live.
The Explorer Post continues to educate and involve our youth in Sheriff Office Operations, to interest them in possible law enforcement careers, to instill discipline, respect and self motivation to become involved with the community through community service.
Activities
Explorers will learn basic Law Enforcement procedures and techniques. Explorers receive instruction in all phases of Law Enforcement including criminal law, traffic law, criminal investigation, crime prevention, traffic control and direction, accident investigation, juvenile delinquency and other related fields, which are an integral part of Law Enforcement. Explorers also participate in community service activities.
Qualifications
*Young adults, both female and male
*Be at least 14 years of age and completed the 8th grade or 15 years of age and have not reached their 21st birthday
*No serious criminal record
*Pass a background investigation
*Be enrolled in school
