The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that two of their employees won Gold Medals at the 2010 Texas Police Games held in Brownsville/Padre Island June 17-19, 2010.

This event involved over 1,400 law enforcement professionals from over 188 agencies across the State of Texas.

Sergeant Kevin Klaerner won two gold medals, one for Shot Put and the other for Discus. Deputy Desiree Terrell won a gold medal for the 10k race.

Deputies Brad McNair and Neil Quick also participated in the Salt Water fishing tournament and Jail Administrator Jim Bernarduci competed in the golf tournament.

The deputies represented the Sheriff’s Office but they had to take their own vacation time to attend and the cost of the trip was the individual deputies’ responsibility.

Some of the deputies were able to obtain corporate sponsors to help defray their own personal expense. “We would like to give special thanks to Boerne Dodge, Ancira GMC, Cavender Chevrolet, Don Strange Ranch, Bear Arms, KW Towing, Boerne Methodist E.R., Quality Roofing, Allcat Claims, Panache Landscaping, Jennings Anderson Ford, R&R Tractor and Texas Star Nut and Food who sponsored our deputies on their endeavor”, stated Sheriff Roger Duncan.

Duncan added “These deputies represented the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office and the entire community and we are very proud of their hard work and dedication to this athletic activity”.
