The Citizen’s Sheriff’s Academy is a 10 week course designed for the citizens of Kendall County to learn more about how their Sheriff’s Office operates and the challenges the deputies face on a day-to-day basis.

The academy began on March 23, 2010 and participants met weekly and received instruction on Criminal Law, Traffic Stops, Criminal Justice Court System, Patrol Duties, County Jail Overview, Criminal Investigations, as well as Firearms proficiency.

“The purpose of the Academy is to enhance the relationship between the Sheriff’s Office and the community, and to give them a better understanding of our values, organization and operations” said Sheriff Duncan.
