Upcoming Citizen's Sheriff's Academy

Sheriff Roger Duncan announced today that the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a “Citizen’s Sheriff’s Academy” from March 23, 2010 through May 25, 2010. Classes will be held each Tuesday night during this period from 7:00pm till 9:00pm. There will also be one Saturday of instruction on May 8, 2010 for firearms familiarization from 9:00am till 1:00pm.
The Sheriff’s Citizen’s Academy is a 10 week course designed for the citizens of Kendall County who are interested in learning more about how their Sheriff’s Office operates and the challenges the deputies face on a day-to-day basis.
The purpose of the Sheriff’s Citizen Academy is to enhance, through education, the positive relationship between the Sheriff’s Office and the community.
Topics covered during the Academy will include Criminal Law, Traffic Stops, Criminal Justice Court System, Patrol Duties, County Jail Overview, Criminal Investigations, as well as Firearms proficiency.
